Hello,

What is the difference between better and advanced snakewood baroque violin bows? If I understand correctly, better bows are not customizable. Which is the length of the better bow?

The main difference between the Better and Advanced grades lies in the selection of the wood itself and the overall craftsmanship.

As for customization, you are mostly right — Better bows are generally not customizable. In most cases that is true, but occasionally there may be a bow already in stock that happens to match the detailed specifications you need at our quantity. It can help if we talk about some details about it.

Regarding the length of the our stock Better baroque violin bow, it is 68 cm without the button(screw), the total length can be about 70 or 72-73cm

I'm looking for a baroque bow with screw with a similar feel to clip in bows, suitable for mid to late baroque. I like clip in bows but I live in a very humid place, so I think I need a screw (what do you think?). Do you think your stock baroque bows are already good for this or what customizations would you propose?

As for whether baroque bows with screw would work well for you, or what customizations I'd suggest for mid to late baroque with a clip-in-like feel — may I first ask how humid it actually is where you live? Also, does the humidity fluctuate a lot across seasons, or is it fairly constant year-round? That would help me give you a more accurate answer.

Humidity is around 70-75% all year. Temperature changes, 10°C in winter and 30°C in summer on average (hot summer). However, there is air conditioning inside many buildings, and at home too

It's very good climate, but air conditioning is a problem if it's too cold or too dry inside buildings. Our solution is 2 clip in frogs with 2 different heights, one for humidity, one for dry air.

Sounds great, I will order a clip-in bow. What is the difference between Clip in baroque violin bow and Advanced Snakewood baroque violin bow from the shop?

The frog mechanism
The Clip-in bow uses a clip-in frog — you snap it into place to secure the hair. The Advanced Snakewood bow uses a screw-tightened frog.
The stick shape and overall profile
The Advanced Snakewood bow has a cambered stick with the curve arching towards the hair. The Clip-in bow comes only in a straight stick option.

I have ordered a clip in bow. I would like it to be around 67cm and 50g, with two frogs (one for humidity and one for dry), and balanced closer to the frog.
